Pat's Biography

Patricia A. Cassano, M.P.H., Ph.D., is the Alan D. Mathios Professor in the Division of Nutritional Sciences, Cornell University, and Professor, Department of Population Health Studies, Division of Epidemiology Weill Cornell Medicine.
Pat is an epidemiologist with interests in nutrition and genetics, and the translation of research evidence in nutrition to policy and practice. She has specialized expertise in the etiology of respiratory diseases and methodological expertise in the design, conduct and analysis of analytical epidemiological studies, in particular long-term prospective cohort studies incorporating biological markers of nutrition and metabolism and molecular markers of genetic variation. She co-directs several external partnerships in the Division of Nutritional Sciences, including the PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centre on Nutrition Research for Health, the Cornell Cochrane Associate Center, the Cornell Joan Jacobs Klein Center for Precision Nutrition and Health, and the WHO/Cochrane/Cornell Summer Institute on Systematic Reviews in Nutrition.
