We combine design, art, biology, chemistry, engineering and social science to educate students with the long-term goal of affecting change in design, materials, people's health and well-being, manufacturing, economic vitality and the environment.
We blend lab and studio-based training with scholarly research to inform the creative process, placing individual needs in the context of broader social, technical and global influences. Unique in the Ivy League, our undergraduate programs combine a strong liberal arts foundation with focused studio- and research-based training. Access to faculty, resources and experiences sets our graduate programs apart.
Human Centered Design faculty share an interest in the enrichment and improvement of human health, well-being and life quality. We see design as a problem-solving tool that helps people to think better and to improve the human condition.
