Information about the FMNP programs and supporting resources from Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE).
FMNP help local farmers expand their sales at farmers' markets and farm stands and to foster healthy communities through the consumption of locally grown, fresh fruits and vegetables. Find more about how FMNP works and about how CCE is involved.
FMNP is two federal programs: the Farmers' Market Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program. In New York State, the Department of Agriculture and Markets administers these as one program.
FMNP provides pregnant or nursing mothers, infants and children enrolled in the NYS Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, with up to $25 in FMNP coupons to buy produce at participating NYS farmers’ markets, farm stands, and mobile markets.
Senior FMNP provides low-income seniors with up to $25 in FMNP coupons to buy produce at participating farmers’ markets, farm stands, and mobile markets.
FMNP increases consumer access to local produce and expands your sales!
Cornell University and CCE partner to provide statewide FMNP outreach and education. CCE staff offer education events to help FMNP coupon recipients select, store, and prepare fresh produce from farmers’ markets. FMNP outreach also focuses on developing tools that increase CCE educators' capacity to serve as resources to nutrition assistance program participants, farmers, market managers, and community agencies involved in FMNP.
