Kat Robert PhD '23 received a $1000 research grant award from Cornell's American Studies Program.  This grant will be used to fund ethnographic research on upcycled fashion production in New York City. Upcycling is an important component of sustainable fashion production that has experienced a steep rise in popularity, partly due to ongoing supply chain disruptions. This research will investigate the makers, sites of production, and network partners that aid in procuring the materials needed to create these fashion lines.
