Researchers from Cornell Human Ecology (CHE) and the University of Buffalo discussed the history of Indigenous education — plus modern-day challenges and opportunities — during a panel discussion on Nov. 4 in Mann Library.

The American Society for Nutrition Foundation (ASNF) and the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF) has awarded Julia Finkelstein, associate professor in the Division of Nutritional Sciences, director of the Maternal and Child Nutrition Program, and co-director of the Cornell Joan Klein Jacobs Center for Precision Nutrition and Health, with the inaugural ASN-NNF Henrik Dam Award for Scientific Discovery in Nutrition.

On May 27 and 28, nearly 300 Cornell Human Ecology students will receive their bachelor’s degrees and officially become CHE alumni. 

The Class of 2023 had an unusual four years – they unexpectedly moved to remote classes in their second semester, and Cornell didn’t fully resume in-person instruction until fall 2022. Still, whether they were on campus, at home, in the workshop, or even in Tanzania or Denmark, students in the Class of 2023

Four community organizations partnering with Cornell Human Ecology students will receive funding as part of the college’s Community-Engaged Reflection Awards. The awards, given to two winners and two runners-up, are based on students’ written reflections about their learning experience with community partners.

This year’s winners are Noah Berg ’24, partnering with the Western New York Law Center in Buffalo, New York, and Jasmine Guarin ’24, partnering with Community Ambassadors in Ocean County, New Jersey. The
