Rujia Xie (she/her) researches health behaviors and social determinants of health using quantitative, geospatial, and machine learning methods. Her work in Community Nutrition at Cornell University draws on training in Demography and City and Regional Planning. In Dr. Laura Bellows’ Health Behaviors Lab, she examines how structural stressors shape maternal and child well-being. Nok In Chan (Felicia)
Felicia Chan is an M.S. student in the Nutrition + Dietetics track. She earned dual degrees in Nutrition and Dietetics and in Nutrition, Fitness, and Health, with a minor in Music, from Purdue University in 2025. During her undergraduate studies, Felicia worked as a Nutrition Coach, providing clients with guidance on goal setting and sustainable lifestyle changes. Nayeon Jeon
Nayeon is a third-year Ph.D. student in Cornell University’s Division of Nutritional Sciences, working with Dr. Sander Kersten. She earned her B.A. in Nutritional Biochemistry and Metabolism from Case Western Reserve University. Her research interests center on lipid metabolism and women’s biology. She investigates how fasting alters gene expression in the liver, adipose tissue, and placenta across different reproductive stages. In particular, she seeks to understand the molecular mechanisms how fasting may disrupt maternal physiology
