Melissa Conroy is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Human Centered Design who specializes in knitwear design and cross-disciplinary creative collaboration. She will discuss the differences and intersections between the disciplines of art, craft and design with an emphasis on understanding how the disciplines of art and craft can benefit the design process using hands-on processes.

Bridging ambition and action students make an impact in NYC
Internships combine community-engaged learning and professional development
With nearly half of all internships unpaid, many college students face financial barriers and unequal access to professional opportunities. The CHE in NYC summer internship is fully funded, helping close that gap. It places Cornell Human Ecology students with community organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem.

Marianella Casasola
Marianella Casasola earned her undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Spanish Literature from the University of California, Berkeley. She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Her expertise is in infant cognitive development and early word learning with a particular interest in the interaction between language and thought during the first years of development. Along with her students, she examines various aspects of early cognitive and linguistic development, but is especially interested
