Biography
The Program Leader for Cornell Cooperative Extension-NYC provides leadership to the Nutrition and Health Program Area in NYC. The position involves long term strategic planning, program management, fund development, program development, evaluation, coordination of several nutrition and health programs for limited resource families (primarily SNAP-Ed, EFNEP and Farmers Market Nutrition Education program) and coordination of special projects in collaboration with community-based organizations that serve pregnant and parenting adolescents and breastfeeding mothers; work closely with the CUCE-NYC program and administrative leadership and Cornell University faculty to develop and implement several large scale community based nutrition programs; develop nutrition education training programs and conduct multiple training sessions for both paraprofessional and professional nutrition and health educators, both within and outside the organization and present at professional conferences.
The Regional Coordinator for the Cornell University, Food and Nutrition Education in Communities ( FNEC) Metropolitan Region, provides leadership including in-depth planning, implementation and evaluation for the FNEC region ( includes NYC, Nassau and Suffolk Counties) ; represent the regional program in concert with the management team to collaborators, potential funders, governmental officials, Cornell University and other stakeholders; act as liaison to the state EFNEP and ESNY as well as other programs that address the needs of low- income residents of the state; develop and implements FNEC regional plan, budget and regional evaluation; manage regional program funding and resources, assuring that accountability and affirmative action requirements are met by the program
