Biography

Danqing is a landscape designer and researcher. Her research focuses on multi-sensory design in urban public spaces, especially in how interactions between different sensory modalities (e.g., vision and smell) influence people's health, emotions, and behaviors. She is also interested in the sensory experiences and challenges of neurodivergent groups in public space. 

Danqing holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Landscape Architecture. Her research experience includes sustainable urban greenspace design, sensory mapping and odor environments in urban public spaces, smell and emotion, aromatic plants and women's health, the impact of nature on profound autistic youth, and the neurodiversity-inclusive campus environment. Through her interdisciplinary research that integrates design, environmental psychology, and cognitive science, Danqing is dedicated to creating more sensory-inclusive urban environments.
