Biography
Fran Kozen is a Senior Lecturer in Human Centered Design and Director of Undergraduate Studies for the FSAD majors. She teaches courses across fashion management and fiber science interests. Ms. Kozen enjoys facilitating student connections to the textile and apparel industry. She organizes and leads an annual study tour to New York; she has been a faculty leader for multiple fashion supply chain study experiences in India, Sri Lanka and China; she took student to North Carolina on a study tour.
Ms. Kozen serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies for Fashion Design & Management and Fiber Science majors,
Her research interests are currently natural dyes obtained from wine industry grape pomace and invasive weeds.
Exploring grape pomace as a source of colorfast natural dyes.
I enjoy student participation and engagement in my classes. I look for opportunities for community engagement.

I facilitate communications and collaborations among industry, alumni, faculty, and students by cultivating contacts, responding to information requests, arranging and hosting visits, and connecting faculty or students with shared interests. I also offer youth outreach programs as requested, such as 4-H Career Explorations programs.
