CHE celebrates 2025 staff recognition awards
As Cornell Human Ecology concludes its 100th anniversary year, the college community gathered for the annual Staff Recognition event on Dec. 9 to honor staff members who reached milestone years of service, contributed to centennial celebrations and were nominated by colleagues for their exceptional dedication.
This year’s 30 honorees marked service milestones ranging from five to 40 years, collectively contributing 570 years to the college and to Cornell.

Larissa Shepherd
Larissa Shepherd, PhD., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fiber Science & Apparel Design.
Dr. Shepherd earned her B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering at Alfred University. While earning her M.S. and Ph.D. from Cornell University, she breifly worked in industry as a Market Development Intern for Invista™, in addition to taking part in a Liquid Crystalline and Responsive Fibers International Research Experience for Students in Germany.

Julia Finkelstein
Dr. Julia Finkelstein is a Professor of Epidemiology and Nutrition in the Division of Nutritional Sciences, and Professor of Epidemiology in the Division of Epidemiology, Department of Population Health Sciences at Weill Cornell Medical College. She is the Director of the Maternal and Child Nutrition Program and co-Director of the Joan Klein Jacobs Center for Precision Nutrition and Health and Cochrane Center and WHO Collaborating Centre at Cornell University.
