Each year, five Human Centered Design students get to pursue a design project of their choice from concept to execution, thanks to scholarships from the Barbara L. Kuhlman Foundation, a nonprofit that supports the fiber arts and related fields. 

The current cohort of students are selected by a faculty committee and worked under the mentorship of Fatma Baytar, associate professor, and Melissa Conroy, senior lecturer, focusing on the stories they wish to

Dr. Saleh Kalantari is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Centered Design at Cornell University, with graduate field memberships in both the Information Science and Architecture departments. He leads the Design and Augmented Intelligence Lab (DAIL), where his research focuses on developing digital tools to better understand the impacts of both virtual and built environments on human behavior.

Dr. Mardelle McCuskey Shepley, B.A., M.Arch., M.A., D.Arch., is an emerita professor at Cornell University in the Department of Human Centered Design and Emerita Director of the Cornell Institute for Health Futures.
