Nayeon Jeon
Nayeon is a third-year Ph.D. student in Cornell University’s Division of Nutritional Sciences, working with Dr. Sander Kersten. She earned her B.A. in Nutritional Biochemistry and Metabolism from Case Western Reserve University. Her research interests center on lipid metabolism and women’s biology. She investigates how fasting alters gene expression in the liver, adipose tissue, and placenta across different reproductive stages. Samiha Azgar
Samiha Azgar is a PhD candidate in Human Nutrition at Cornell University whose research focuses on the emergence of Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) in early adolescence. Her work examines longitudinal changes in ovarian morphology, menstrual cyclicity, androgen profiles, and metabolic characteristics during the years following menarche. Shah Mohammad Fahim is a Ph.D. student in Nutrition, working with Dr. Saurabh Mehta. He is a physician and earned his MBBS from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He later earned his M.P.H. in Epidemiology with Summa-Cum-Laude distinction from the American International University, Bangladesh. Sarah Hess is a Ph.D. student in Community Nutrition working with Dr. Angela Odoms-Young. She earned bachelor’s degrees in Dietetics and Sports Nutrition and a Master of Science degree from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, as well as completing her dietetic internship at Dominican University. Sarah’s research focuses on advancing the understanding of how chronic stress influences dietary behaviors and developing strategies to support healthy lifestyles among low socioeconomic populations. Victoria Wurzel
Victoria completed her undergraduate studies in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She then earned her Master of Public Health in Nutrition at the University of Michigan, where she also completed her dietetic internship. While at Michigan, Victoria contributed to a study examining how coparenting relationships influence children’s home food environments. Her research interests center around how mothers experience, navigate, and make meaning of foodwork, or the physical, emotional, and cognitive labor involved
