American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is a community of people driven by a common love for design and a commitment to the belief that interior design as a service to others is a powerful, multi-faceted profession that can positively change people’s lives. Through education, advocacy, community building and outreach the society strives to advance the interior design profession and, in the process, to demonstrate and celebrate the power of design. With the motto "Yesterday’s vision, today’s reality, and tomorrow’s hope," Association for Students and Community (ASC) unites first-generation students and students from disadvantaged backgrounds to provide a supportive foundation for their enrollment, retention, graduation and career placement. ASC members work toward these goals by participating in on-campus hosting programs, high school visitations and sponsoring alumni career forums. Members provide volunteer services to the Cornell and Ithaca communities and host annual fall and spring events. ASC is open to all currently enrolled students.

Cornell Fashion Collective (CFC) was formed to provide students interested in designing apparel an opportunity to express their creativity outside of the classroom by producing a fashion show each spring. Concerned with all aspects of professional presentation, the annual show provides a creative outlet for those interested in graphics, photography and theater production. A majority of CFC fashion designers are part of the Department of Human Centered Design, but the organization welcomes full-time students from all Cornell majors and schools.

The Cornell Fashion Industry Network (CFIN) is a student-run organization that brings members of the fashion industry to Cornell to discuss their career paths and industry experiences. The Human Ecology Ambassadors are a group of students who serve as liaisons between the CHE Office of Admissions and prospective undergraduate students and their families. Ambassadors provide a student voice in the admissions process and support recruitment and yield activities for each incoming first-year and transfer class. Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) has a Cornell chapter that consists of a group of students and faculty. The organization, based in the Department of Human Centered Design, plans events and activities that include invited speakers, practical demonstrations of ergonomic design principles and field trips. The chapter contributes to the CUErgo website and has established an information library in the DEA Resource Center.

International Facility Managers Association (IFMA) helps students who are interested in the field of facility planning and management explore the profession and stay current with the latest issues in the field. Chapter activities include speaker events, field trips and joint meetings with other professional association chapters. Student members also have access to the IFMA research library, scholarships, educational events and IFMA publications.

Kappa Omicron Nu (KON) is the Human Ecology honor society that recognizes academic excellence. As a chapter of the national honor society, KON empowers leaders through scholarship, research and leadership development. Students are inducted once a year in the spring semester. Select sophomores and juniors are nominated based on their GPAs.

Pre-professional Association Toward Careers in Health (PATCH) provides support, advising and up-to-date information to Human Ecology students pursuing careers in health care. Programs include academic advising; guest speakers on allopathic and alternative medicine; career options; information on medical school admissions, MCAT preparation, research, and internships; and a visit to a local medical school. This student organization is sponsored by Human Ecology.

Thread Magazine is an independent student publication that focuses on fashion, lifestyle and art at Cornell. Thread represents a conglomeration of student-made fashion, art, photography, styling, and design and publishes an issue each semester to showcase the interdisciplinary talents of individuals within the Cornell community through compelling visual and written storytelling.
