Eduardo González, Jr. is a statewide Diversity Specialist for Cornell University Cooperative Extension.  In this capacity, a key area of focus for Mr. González is assisting staff, managers, administrators and their respective organizations in developing the awareness, understanding and skills needed to support and/or provide leadership in organizational change efforts on diversity.  He is a Lead Facilitator in the Opening Doors Diversity Project. Eduardo is also a Youth Development Specialist with the Family and Youth Development program

Nandeep is a PhD student in International Nutrition working with Dr. Saurabh Mehta. He earned his bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery (MBBS) from JIPMER-Puducherry, India. Nandeep’s research interests focus on anemia and fortification. He is also interested in nanoparticle research and is keen on exploring ways to deliver iron using them.

Jamila Walida Simon earned her Bachelor's Degree from Wells College and her Master's Degree from Cornell University. She began her career with Cornell University Cooperative Extension in New York City (CUCE-NYC) under the direction of Cornell Human Ecology (CHE) alum, Dr. Davis-Manigaulte the former CUCE-NYC Family and Youth Development Program Leader. Jamila served as the CYFAR CITY Project Coordinator while with CUCE-NYC. This launched her love for anchoring youth voices in her positive youth development

On May 27 and 28, nearly 300 Cornell Human Ecology students will receive their bachelor’s degrees and officially become CHE alumni. 

The Class of 2023 had an unusual four years – they unexpectedly moved to remote classes in their second semester, and Cornell didn’t fully resume in-person instruction until fall 2022. Human Ecology faculty members are addressing climate change and its repercussions across diverse fields of study, including sustainability in the fashion industry, environmentally friendly buildings and malnutrition across the globe.
