Brittany is a FiGLI student pursuing both her JD and PhD in Developmental Psychology. Her research is based predominantly on child eyewitnesses and juvenile justice in Cornell's Child Witness and Cognition Lab. She is also a graduate member of the Cornell University Prison Initiative and the active president of the Cornell Graduate and Professional Women's Network.

Grubbs's current research focuses on the (mis)representation of Black women at the intersection of fashion, beauty, and media. This agenda explores the use of stereotypical imagery to represent Black women throughout visual culture, and the impact that the representations have on Black women’s self-presentation, identity formation, and societal perception. Catherine Kueffer Blumenkamp is a designer and educator whose work is guided by her interest in material culture and the aesthetic, cultural, and collective meanings of design.

As a lecturer in Human Centered Design, she teaches courses in fashion, aesthetics and society and fashion draping; hosts workshops that invite outside experts to share their experience with the Human Centered Design community; and serves as associate director of the Cornell Fashion + Textile Collection. Mary Ruberti, LMSW, is an extension associate with the BCTR.  Ms. Ruberti has worked in child welfare and residential treatment for over 30 years in various roles including direct care worker, supervisor, social worker, training coordinator, and quality assurance manager. Ms. Ruberti has been affiliated with the Residential Child Care Project at Cornell since 1993.  She has had the privilege of providing training and technical assistance to agencies implementing Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and Children

Melissa Conroy is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Human Centered Design who specializes in knitwear design and cross-disciplinary creative collaboration.  She will discuss the differences and intersections between the disciplines of art, craft and design with an emphasis on understanding how the disciplines of art and craft can benefit the design process using hands-on processes. 

Research Associate in Fiber Science. My research focuses on the remediation and environmental fate of pollutants, and the analysis and degradation study of dyes on textile and archaeological samples. I also cooperate with other faculty on the projects of fabric evaluation, textile test and biodegradation. Teaching and training are my other duties. Currently teaching Fiber Chemistry class and training TAs for other Fiber Science classes. 

This summit brings together early childhood researchers, policymakers and practitioners to examine the research foundations, policy implications and practical applications of early child care programs.
