CHE celebrates 2025 staff recognition awards
As Cornell Human Ecology concludes its 100th anniversary year, the college community gathered for the annual Staff Recognition event on Dec. 9 to honor staff members who reached milestone years of service, contributed to centennial celebrations and were nominated by colleagues for their exceptional dedication.
This year’s 30 honorees marked service milestones ranging from five to 40 years, collectively contributing 570 years to the college and to Cornell.

Two new faculty fellowships named in CHE
Two Cornell Human Ecology faculty members have recently been awarded fellowships, including one that was newly endowed.
Denise Green ’07, associate professor in the Department of Human Centered Design, has been named the inaugural Morgan Engaged Faculty Fellow, and Laura Bellows, associate professor in the Division of Nutritional Sciences, has been named the new Evalyn Edwards Milman ’60 Fellow, both in the Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research (BCTR). How CHE students spent their summer ’24
Each summer, Cornell Human Ecology students have the chance to learn outside the classroom and gain real-world experience through internships, research with faculty and other opportunities.
We asked six undergrads to share their summer 2024 experiences in their own words, from interning at a design firm in London to engaging with the local community at farmers markets across upstate New York to working with teenagers in Harlem on nutrition education.

How CHE undergrads spent summer '23

CHE students reflect on work with community partners
Four community organizations partnering with Cornell Human Ecology students will receive funding as part of the college’s Community-Engaged Reflection Awards. The awards, given to two winners and two runners-up, are based on students’ written reflections about their learning experience with community partners.
