Required Cornell prerequisites

  • NS 3410 Human Anatomy and Physiology
  • NS 3420 Human Anatomy and Physiology Laboratory

Elective courses

12 credits at Ithaca College's Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences

Important Notes

  • Begin IC coursework as soon as Cornell prerequisites are complete.
  • You are responsible for planning transportation to IC and potential scheduling conflicts.

  • Any Cornell student may take up to 4 credits at IC per semester through the CU-IC Exchange Program in the Cornell University School of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions.

Students must complete both prerequisites before enrolling in Ithaca College courses.

NS 3410: Human Anatomy and Physiology

NS 3420: Human Anatomy and Physiology Laboratory

IC enrollment

You must complete the CU-IC Exchange enrollment process, meeting all deadlines and requirements.

IC electives

You will take 12 credits at Ithaca College, which may include topics such as:

Kinesiology

The study of human movement, focusing on musculoskeletal and articular systems.

Exercise Physiology

Examining how physiological systems respond to exercise and training.

Biomechanics

Exploring mechanical principles affecting human motion in sports and exercise.

You should refer to the Ithaca College Course Catalog for current course options and availability and consult with DNS Student Services about current requirements for the minor.

 

Transportation

You are responsible for arranging transportation between campuses. 

Schedule

Class start dates at Ithaca College may differ from Cornell’s, and students must attend according to the IC schedule.

Process and forms

DNS reports completed minors to college registrars twice a year after final grades are posted. The minor appears on transcripts but not diplomas.

Submit the Applied Exercise Science minor intent form when you decide to pursue the minor.

When you complete course requirements at Ithaca College, you must request that transcripts be sent to Cornell and dnsstudentservices [at] cornell.edu (notify DNS Student Services) that transcripts have been sent.
