Student designers challenge convention to enhance human thriving

About

Self-watering planters that improve air quality and alert users to risk. Fashion that transforms gendered words into powerful symbols of passion. A reimagined classroom designed to foster active learning. These are some of the bold and innovative student projects presented at the Cornell Fashion & Design Expo on April 25, the annual juried exhibition hosted by the Department of Human Centered Design (HCD).

I am a retired Senior Extension Associate (Emeritus) with the College of Human Ecology, Cornell University. I am affiliated with the College's Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research and the research and evaluation team of the Residential Child Care Project.  My professional purpose is consistent with the RCCP’s mission to provide high-quality, research-informed, and equitable services for children served by our nation’s child welfare, juvenile justice, mental health, and developmental disability systems.
