Andy Turner
Andrew Turner accepted a position with Extension Administration in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences after working for 22 years in the Cornell Cooperative Extension system in Rockland, Greene and Columbia Counties in New York's Hudson Valley. Turner accepted an interim role as the Director of the New York State 4-H Youth Development program in the BCTR in 2014 and is currently in the process of being promoted to Senior Extension Associate in BCTR

Student summer fellows forge NYC community collaborations
Two Human Ecology graduate students spent this past summer in New York City as part of a summer fellowship through the Action Research Collaborative (ARC), learning how researchers and communities can work together to effect change. The fellowship offers a blend of academic mentorship from ARC-affiliated faculty and practical experience working with community partners on action research projects based in the city. NYC faculty discuss equity, community engagement
Faculty in Cornell’s Action Research Collaborative (ARC) joined New York City and State policymakers and community members for ARC’s second symposium on June 22. The annual symposium is an opportunity for researchers, policymakers and community stakeholders to share their knowledge and advance equity in areas like nutrition and health, housing and social services, and youth development.

A "Sesame Street" writer’s long road to an Emmy
Monique Hall ’14 tried to be practical, but her dream wouldn’t let her go. Growing up in New Jersey, she loved getting lost in narratives on TV — everything from Sesame Street to 30 Rock. Watching the credits roll as a teenager, she realized that writing those episodes was someone’s job. Eventually, she’d win an Emmy for doing just that, but back then, for the child of immigrants from Jamaica, a creative career felt unrealistic
