Alumna establishes scholarship to support undergraduates
Gwen Whiting ’98 has established a $1 million endowed scholarship that will provide full tuition to one undergraduate student in the College of Human Ecology each year. Her gift was matched by an additional $500,000 from the university as part of Cornell’s affordability challenge, which aims to make a Cornell education even more affordable for talented students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. CHE launches internship in New York City
Cornell Human Ecology has launched a new summer internship program in New York City focused on urban studies, community engagement and professional development.
The internship program places student interns at partner sites across the city’s five boroughs. For this pilot year, three students focused on youth development and worked with the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem, a longstanding partner with the Cornell Action Research Collaborative. Burrow shares research on purpose at White House youth policy summit
Anthony Burrow, Ferris Family Associate Professor of Life Course Studies in the Department of Psychology, shared his research on the benefits of having a sense of purpose in life at the White House Youth Policy Summit on February 13.
