Joshua Siger hails from Athens, Georgia, where he attended the University of Georgia. During his time at the university, he earned both an undergraduate and a graduate degree in nutritional science.

Beyond his academic accomplishments at UGA, Joshua engaged in unique nutrition research roles. During his undergrad, Joshua served as the head research assistant for the UGA Dining Services. This research atmosphere served to better understand college students’ relationship to food selection within the dining hall alongside how the layout and architecture of the dining hall impacts food choice. Moreover, during his graduate studies, Joshua served as a research assistant within the UGA Community Nutrition Lab. The objective of the lab was the development of nutrition education material for low-income Georgians.

In addition, Joshua served as an intern for the UGA Olympic Sport Nutrition Team, where he served as a nutrition support staff member for the Men’s and Women’s basketball program. During this time period, Joshua worked to support the food service, material development, and counseling aspects of nutrition services for student-athletes.

As Joshua enters his dietetic internship, his ambitions for professional life within dietetics are the pursuit of a role as a performance dietitian where he aims to work with professional athletes or to work as a research dietitian aimed at developing and enhancing community nutrition education for susceptible populations. While the exact field of work Joshua aims to pursue is still developing, his passion for developing and enhancing the skills needed within the field of nutrition is steadfast.
