Born in Rajkot, India, I arrived in the US to pursue higher education in Psychology. After graduating from UCLA, I joined Cornell to work with Dr. Adam Anderson in the Psychology (formerly Human Development) department. 

In my training to be an affective computational neuroscientist, I pursue research in nostalgia, nutrition, autobiographical memory, social sharing of emotions, and consciousness. Dubbed The Ratatatouille Moment, I am constructing a theoretical model on food-related nostalgia and examining its influence on homeostatic mechanisms using behavioural studies, neuroimaging, and machine learning. 

Before joining Cornell, I worked with Dr. Matthew Lieberman and Dr. Naomi Eisenberger at UCLA. I was also a summer research assistant for Dr. Yi-qun Gan at Peking University and was trained by Dr. Elizabeth Hall and Sarah Gody at UCLA in clinical research.
