My research interests center on how social and cultural environments shape self-concept, identity, and psychological well-being. I am especially interested in how these processes vary across cultures, and how social media and other features of contemporary social life relate to the way people understand themselves and their well-being. My current research examines historical changes in self-description and their potential links to social and psychological outcomes.
