Winnie Huang, 2015 HEAA Outstanding Senior Awardee

Winnie Huang

Winnie Huang ’15 joined the College of Human Ecology as a proud member of the Policy Analysis and Management program. Her curriculum in public policy included coursework on education, consumer, financial and infrastructure policy, which equipped her with the ability to critically analyze issues facing public and private sectors. With minors in Business and Law & Society, she is excited to pursue a career in consulting as a member of the Ernst and Young Advisory Consultant Program.

Outside the classroom, Winnie strived to make an impact on incoming students, current students and alumni in order to foster a stronger Human Ecology community. First, she served as a Cornell Ambassador and also volunteered as an Orientation Leader in 2013. This led her to serve as a member of the 2013 Orientation Steering Committee and Co-Chair of the 2014 Orientation Steering Committee, where she recruited and trained Orientation volunteers to facilitate the introduction and adjustment of new students to Cornell.

Her passion for the College of Human Ecology led her to a Student Assistant position in the Human Ecology Alumni Affairs and Development office. She became the Student Representative for the Human Ecology Alumni and Association Board her senior year. To further help connect students with alumni, she also served as a member of the Dean’s Undergraduate Advisory Council.

As a Cornell Tradition Fellow, Winnie engaged with campus and community service while balancing jobs and strong academic achievement. She has been a Center Program Specialist at the Cornell Public Service Center since her freshman year, where she promoted volunteer opportunities offered by student organizations and the greater Ithaca community.
